December 21st. The day with the shortest of daylight. This marks the winter solstice. What does this mean? Well we will have one minute of daylight a day through to March when we have to put the clocks forward. Meaning the spring/summer are on the way.
It’s the long exhalation. The whisper of thanks. The spark in the shadows, this year more than ever. At 3.59pm today the Northern Hemisphere will be at its furthest point from our Sun. By 4pm our long journey back to the light will already have begun.
Whatever darkness still lies ahead, cling tightly to this: it only gets brighter from here”.
Happy Solstice, everyone!
Safe safe, where a mask & test yourself regularly.
