He was crowned champ on Sunday’s Dancing on Ice but he nearly missed the top spot with his first performance not reaching top marks. The judges collectively gave him 38 our of 40 with Jason and Ashley offering just 9.5 each. You could tell he was devastated and Holly Willoughby tried to touch on the fact that he was injured but he said he did not want to make a big deal of it – Good on you James. The second dance was received well with top marks but it was his final dance that smashed it. His Bolero was received with a standing ovation and saw him take the crown. Local lad James deserved it, he is older than his main competitor Wes and despite being a trained dancer, dancing on Ice is a whole different kettle of fish.
His Partner Alexandra Schauman looked just as pleased, the work she put in to get James to the standard he is now has clearly paid off. Well done to you both.
The costumes and make up was again on point last night, hats off to ITV’s wardrobe and make up department yet again. It was interesting to see Saara Alto’s partner Hamish with his Brown locks as he usually sports Blonde hair.
